Oh well. It won't lock in place any longer there at the sliding bit...so we use the balancing act, and being gentle helps as well. Had a lovely week down at the beach with my family. As soon as you reach Galveston the salt air licks your lips...and just by taste alone you know you're at the beach. Charcoal..on paper. You know when I'm doing these I think of when I was little and playing in the bathtub with my markers - I'd draw on the tile and the tub when my mom wasn't looking - and wipe it off with her good washcloths - and then try to desperately get the ink off scrubbing the washcloths with the bar of soap..didn't work. The other evening it was cool here..as it has been for a while now, and we had a wonderful model - Marty has a fabulous fireplace in the studio - keeping our model nice and warm. I believe all of the drawing is paying off.  Kind of like this one.  Never do 'interiors'  -  so this was fun incorporating that. Yay!  Today I rolled out my easel and drew - lovely model - my girl (sleepy can you tell? ;) ..20 minutes charcoal on paper.  Will get paints out soon.  During the remodel, all my supplies (paints etc.) have been packed..time to unpack those paints - and paint outside if I have to.

What can I say?  I've been busy.  Very.  Remodeled home - check.  Daughter graduated college - check (so proud!!).  Holidays - check.  Building sweet small studio, my "McStudio" Studio Sixty-Eight actually - almost check.  It's in the process, and coming along nicely. With blue skies and cool temps, this past weekend I attended and entered my work "Nos da"  (oil on canvas) into the Northwest Art League Fall show.  So many fabulous pieces of work there, oils, watercolors, mixed medias, drawings.  Absolutely loved the abstracts, landscapes, figurative works there.  Enjoyed it all so much.  Talking and sharing ideas with other artists, I can never get enough :).

Today we The Six Figure Artists went to the museum to demo. It was great fun about 120-150 people milled in and out, it was fantastic. Did this last year, it's been hanging on my wall that long. Did it the same time I did Tempest, and Fan Dancer. Haven't decided what I'm going to do with this one yet. Have an Idea, rather abstract..but wanted to show. charcoal 24x18Sweet girls sat for our Six Figures group tonight....some of us painted, I drew. When they come back, hopefully I'll get to paint them! They both had such beautiful long dark hair. Ya, drawing does ROCK. Loves it. And if your model moves a bit..do the best you can, go with it..JUST DRAW! Drawing was doing in about 2.5 hours give or take with breaks.
